Peak Season for Sharing the Gospel

Here we are again, at the beginning of what I consider to be, one of the peak seasons for sharing your faith with others.

Any time is a great time for sharing the message of the Gospel, but during this time of year, it seems that people become more receptive to the message, at least in my own experience.

People who normally don't attend church, suddenly do. Those who normally are not willing to talk about spiritual things, seem not to mind being engaged in a conversation.

Take advantage of this season when we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Help people to understand the true meaning of our celebration. Show them how Christmas and Easter are connected. Most people never consider the relationship. Be sure to present the whole message of the Gospel. Don't leave Jesus in the manger. He grew up to make an awesome sacrifice for the salvation of the souls of all mankind.

This time of year has become a little more confrontational in the States than it has been in the past, with people wanting to eliminate "Merry Christmas" with "Happy Holidays". In Washington State, there is actually an atheist display in their state capitol, alongside the Christian Nativity Scene. In Washington DC, another group has purchased advertising space on the city buses to declare that there is no God.

I'll leave the arguing over those topics to others. Instead, use these events as a conversation starter that can lead someone to Christ.

The Bible tells us that in the last days, there will be more and more persecution for those who want to tell others about repenting of sin, surrendering to God, and sharing the true message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We must not shrink from our duty!! Share the message with compassion for those who have been deceived. Remember that the people who have instigated these efforts are not the real enemy. Satan is the real enemy. Don't let him win!!

My prayer for you during this season is that God will open doors of opportunity for you to share your faith in Jesus Christ, and that He will also give you the boldness and Spiritual Gifts that you need in order to carry out His call on your life. Take some time in prayer every day to prepare yourself for the opportunities that He gives you.

Review the Gospel message and remind yourself of the awesome transformation that God has made in your own life. Let your personal relationship with Jesus Christ spill out into every area of your life.

I am looking forward to hearing the great testimonies of souls saved and lives transformed in the coming weeks.
