You Can Use Neighborhood Night Out Programs To Reach Your Community

Neighborhood Night Out, now called National Night Out, has traditionally been done in August of each year, in an effort to get neighbors acquainted with each other and to help in deterring crime and drug abuse in their communities. You can check out their website and resource center, here. If your community already has an event scheduled, get involved by providing a game booth for the children or bring out your puppet or drama team to minister.

If your community does not have an event scheduled, why not be the one to organize it and sponsor the event! Your church building is a great place to have the neighborhood gather for a positive experience.

Call your local police department. Some of them will come out on the night of the event to do drug awareness presentations and Emergency I.D. Programs for the children.

Your local fire department may bring out the fire truck for the children to look at and do interactive events with them.

Your puppet team or drama ministries can take the opportunity to minister.

Hot Dogs, Popcorn and Lemonade are great additions to the event and are fairly inexpensive.

This one is not hard to do, the national organization has some great resources and I am also available to help you plan an effective event. Contact Me about Neighborhood Night Out. I'd Love To help!
